History
The idea of manufacturing of electric forklift trucks in Bulgaria appeared in the early 50 years of the 20th century.Its realization in practice started in 1952 when the first experimental series Bulgarian platform trucks was developed, a total of 5 of them. Later, in 1955, another series is produced and the following year, during the 7th session of the Council for Mutual Economic Assistance (CMEA), the country received specialization for production of trackless lifting vehicles with electric drive
Electric forklift trucks in Bulgaria is one of the sectors of the domestic industry, which in its history has had significant achievements. Since the development of the first experimental series of material handling equipment in the country in 1952, the industry had been constantly growing and refining when in the end of the 70s of the last century our country came first in volume of production of forklifts in the world. The late 80 years of the century, however, are the beginning of the end for the state company "Balkancar."
From 1967 Balkancar RUEN JSC serves the assembly plants of the State Economic Unit "Balkancar." After the collapse of Balkancar Holding and bankruptcy of the holding company in 2002., from Its structures are removed the businesses which create intermediate products necessary for the production of trucks.
The joint stock company Balkancar RUEN has been completely private since September 2007 and is a subsidiary of Balkancar ZARYA.
